These boxes have been designed to provide a lightweight, non-corrosive and trouble free units to house control gear.
The box and lid are made from ICI 'Darvic' Rigid PVC, which is particularly suitable for this purpose. It is tough with excellent resistance to impact and exceptional resistance to acids, alkalis and a wide range of chemicals. It is stain resistant, easy to maintain and never needs painting - although it can be painted if desired.
'Darvic' is self-extinguishing,with a Class 2 fire rating as defined in BS 476 (Part1). It is unaffected by temperature changes between -30°C (20°F) and 60°C (140°F).
The lid is secured to the box by two nylon hinges and fastened by a nylon bolt-triangular key-operated lock.
The baseboard is carried on a galvanised sheet steel plate that extends up the ends of the box and is drilled as required for cable entry and mounting.
The boxes may be mounted directly on to any of our brackets and for this purpose a plastic spacer, nipple and lock nut are provided. Wall or pole clamps can also be supplied if required and can be drilled or tapped for top or bottom entry.
